Market Mojo Report – What are you a fan of ?

I appreciate anyone who has mastered their craft. Popular musicians especially get my attention because they inspire me to get better at my saxophone playing as well bringing my Real Estate services to a higher level. Post – COVID, I have started to attend concerts again. Fortunately, a lot of great, popular musicians come to our area. Earlier this year I was able to see 82-year old Judy Collins, famous for her beautiful voice, at the Lobero Theater. She was a delight, full of stories of the Leonard Cohen/Bob Dylan days in 1960’s NYC.

Well known bands and popular musicians can often be seen at the SB County Bowl on Milpas Street. This 4,562 seat outdoor arena just hosted Robert Plant and Alison Krauss, an electrifying duo. Plant even did a couple of numbers from his old band, Led Zeppelin. Krauss has won 27 Grammy Awards, the most of any female recording artist.

SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, home of the LA Rams and the Chargers, is easily the most expensive stadium in the world. It is a wonder in size and is incredibly comfortable for a concert with 70,000 people. Earlier this summer I crossed the Beatles off my bucket-list with a visit to see Paul McCartney. Sir Paul, on tour the week before he turned 80, was a wonder to behold. Amazing doesn’t come close to describing the quality of the production and the generosity he showed to the audience, including a heart – felt tribute to John Lennon.

How do you get to be a good musician – you practice. A band that has been practicing since their first concert on July 12, 1962, is The Rolling Stones. This summer they scheduled a 60th Anniversary Tour in Europe. The Brussels venue had front row seats available.

It’s hard to describe the excitement of being 10 feet away from Mick Jagger! They dedicated the concert to Charlie Watts, their dear friend and long time drummer who recently died at age 80. Mick, Keith, and Ronnie are all in their 70s and they simply crushed it with a never – ending parade of hits, and a roaring encore with “Sympathy for the Devil” and “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction.”

I’m looking forward to seeing Bruce Springsteen in February in Portland, Oregon. He has a reputation for putting on the best show out there.

According to Outliers, The Story of Success, by Malcom Gladwell, a person who puts in 10,000 hours of progressive practicing becomes a master in that area. After 30 years of being a Real Estate Agent in Santa Barbara, I figure I’ve put in over 40,000 hours learning what works well in the Real Estate Market. There is always more to learn, and that is what keeps me excited about helping my clients. Creating a win-win solution for them feels like a beautiful song that magically comes together.

I always appreciate it when fans of my newsletters and podcasts tell me how much they value working with me. They are the ones who have helped me master my craft.
